The next-generation of Xbox, the 720, which will be much better than its previous versions, might require Kinect, the motion detection system, in order for you to use the console. Also it is believed, according to a source from Kotaku, that a constant Internet connection is mandatory to run the Durango (the codename of Xbox 720).

The latest version of Kinect has a 1920×1080 camera, a 512×424 IR depth sensor, which is able to track six players in the room simultaneously and it can also read your facial expressions to transmit the emotions to the virtual player. The 500GB HDD gives an 8-core, 64-bit CPU, 800MHz DirectX 11.x GPU. with 1.6GHz.

The leak mentioned that, another feature of the Xbox 720 is mandatory: all games must be installed on the device for them to work. On the Xbox 360 you have the option to choose whether or not to install a game. It will also incorporate a technology that makes it impossible (or at least very hard) to play second-hand games.

As a good news Xbox 720 will be able to multitask. This will make playing multiple games or apps, all at once, possible, which is becoming a trend in the game world.

We might will find out more details about the Xbox 720 and its new features at the 2013 Game Developer’s Conference, next month.

Would you buy the new Xbox 720, even if it has a few “restrictions”? Leave your thoughts below.
