If you spend many hours in front of a desk you might want to change your old one with a treadmill desk or walking desk. Most common sitting problems include joint pain, neck pain, body fatigue and obesity.

By using a standard desk you do burn calories according to some studies, but not many. You burn approximately 2,500 calories sitting in front of a normal desk and over 3,400 calories, while sitting in front of a treadmill desk.

On an office treadmill desk you can run with an average speed of two and a half miles per hour and do you job without any disturbance. Experts mentioned that setting this speed, the amount of completed work will remain the same. Their speed variates from  0.4 miles per hour to 4 miles per hour.

The average treadmill desk’s price is between $1,000 and $1,500. You can buy them with or without an attached desk.

If you do not have enough space, do not worry, it doesn’t take too much space and it could weight around 140 pounds. An average size would be 72 inches long, 30 inches wide, and 9-10 inches tall.

These treadmill desks could become the next normal thing and on top of helping you losing weight or fighting fatigue and joint pain, you can skip the treadmill next time you go to gym.

There is already a new idea that combats office inactivity and that is represented by stationary bikes instead of treadmill desks.

Would you consider buying a treadmill desk and replace your conventional one? Tell us what you think about this topic in the comments box.
