Vine is a free mobile application developed by Twitter, which allows us to record short videos (up to six seconds long) and then share them on different social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

The competition is called #6SECFILMS and it represents a “mini festival just for Vines”. You can enter as many Vines as you want, although you cannot submit the same Vine to several categories. There are four categories: #Genre, #Series, #Auteur and #Animate. This event will be held in New York City, on April 17th. If you enter the #Series category mark your episodes like these 1/3, 2/3 etc.

The winners will be selected by a jury panel, which includes Director Penny Marshall, actor Adam “The King of Vine” Goldberg and many others.

To enter you must first tag your video #6SECFILMS and add the hashtag of the appropriate category (via Twitter) and also follow @TribecaFilmFest on Twitter.

The lucky winners will be awarded $600 for each second of their Vine. If you think you have what it takes, keep in mind that the deadline is April 7th, 2013 at 11:59 PM and the winners will be announced on April 26th.
