On the outside, Galaxy S4 has a similar design with Galaxy S3, but a lot thinner at 7.9 mm (it also weights 4.6 ounces). The display is amazing: the 5-inch Super Amoled Gorilla Glass 3 screen offers 1080p. The smartphone is made out of polycarbonate, with metallic-looking edges. It will be available in just two colors black and white.
The hardware didn’t change a lot, except a few upgrades. Samsung Galaxy S4 is powerful, with 2 GHz quad-core CPU. By comparison Apple‘s iPhone 5 offers just 1 GHz. Running Android 4.2.2 isn’t a great idea for Samsung’s smartphone because the operating system is a little complex and it takes a couple of hours to “understand” it.
Galaxy S4 has two cameras: a 2-megapixel front camera and a a 13-megapixel rear camera. Samsung said that this camera can take high quality low-light shots.
The smartphone comes with a few unexpected features like humidity sensor or temperature meter, S Voice, S Voice Drive, S Health, Group Play, ChatOn messenger application.
Screen-sharing and video calling are also available on the new model.
Galaxy S4 uses a SwiftKey-powered keyboard, has 2GB of RAM and a 2,600mAh battery. The 64GB of internal storage could be upgraded with another 64GB available through the microSD card slot.
The rumors we mentioned regarding the eye tracking technology were real and you will be able to “see” them in action on Galaxy S4. For example, if you stop watching the screen, the light will dim or if you tilt the smartphone up, the page will move up.
The company has promised that Galaxy S4 will be available on sales starting the second quarter of 2013. Samsung did not announced a price, but it will be between $200 and $300 with a contract.
