Diablo 3’s expansion Reaper of Souls has sold 2.7 million copies in it’s first week.
Reaper of Souls was supposed to be Diablo 3’s second coming, after the diabolical release week for the hugely anticipated game, hype faded away quickly and what was left was angry customers that couldn’t play what they had paid for because of the cynical always-online that Blizzard had implemented after they had stated it was crucial to how the game plays. This was later debunked by themselves as they released an offline version on PS3, PC gamers were not best pleased.
Recently though Blizzard have slowly but surely been making their way back into the good books as they got rid of the horrible auction house and actual good item drops started increasing in chance. Reaper of Souls seems to have satisfied many Diablo fans and many see it as a return to from for Blizzard. I haven’t had the chance to try it out myself yet but I am cautiously optimistic, I recently played a lot of Diablo 3 with my other half whilst we were in different countries and after a while the game gets really boring and I don’t think this new expansion could mix that up enough to make it interesting again.
Don’t get me wrong I love ARPG’s but Diablo 3 just seems to sterile and boring to me compared to its predecessors and I don’t think Reaper of Souls could change that for me and im not willing to pay the price of admission to find out.
